New skin care series with probiotic technology targeting the P. acnes bacteria. Gentle and without dehydration and irritation. Not just kids and teenagers experience periods of blemish and oily skin. As many as 20% of adults – especially women – continue to experience such skin problems.

Often, blemish skin is caused by one specific organism, called the P. acnes bacterium and a naturally occurring skin organism. The P. acnes organism mainly flourishes in closed environments. Dead skin cells and increased sebaceous material may clog up follicles and create optimal conditions for P. acnes growth. Visible spots, also referred to as pustules, develop in the skin surface; and – a little deeper in the skin – you may detect comedones (blackheads), which may feel like knotty cysts. This causes red and irritated skin.

On our blog, regular posts by our expert will provide more good advice on skin care. You can also read about what others say about impure skin, or participate in the debate yourself, on the closed Facebook group, Impure skin – knowledge and experience.

There are many cosmetic products for treatment of blemish skin. Unfortunately, most are characterised by considerable adverse effects. Because many products are, in fact, based on either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. In some cases, these active agents may show an effect on blemish skin. But, as they are very wide-ranging in scope, they either kill all the skin’s bacterial flora – including good organisms – or they will result in dehydrated and peeling skin. So, often, the result will be even more irritated, red and sensitive skin.

If you wish to obtain cleaner skin, gentle daily skin care routines are important – skin care focused on opening clogged-up pores, cleansing the skin and targeted attacks on the P. acnes organism without disturbing the remaining, natural bacterial flora. At the same time, to allow the sensitive skin to heal, it is important to give it lots of moisture and nourishment. And this is precisely what constitutes the philosophy behind the LACTOClear™ skin care system.

  1. Use tepid water when you wash your skin
  2. Use gentle and pH neutral washing and cleansing products. Skin with impurities is often sensitive.
  3. Use moisturising cream and makeup that will not clog up pores. Use mineral-based makeup to allow the skin to breathe.
  4. Remove makeup and wash and cleanse your skin every morning and evening
  5. Avoid dehydrating your skin. Your skin needs extra moisture and nourishment to heal.
  6. REMEMBER: In addition, my advice is to eat a healthy diet, to drink plenty of water and to exercise. This will increase blood circulation and flush out waste products. A healthy lifestyle means healthy skin.
